There are a few FREE shareware solutions that offer almost the same basic functionality, but not the simple well refined ease of use and features of MindMapper.

Download the free ones and give them a try. They are basic on snappy features but create some nice visuals. They might be all you need. If not purchase the MindMapper software. Its well worth it!
